Proof every job
Every job you print, regardless of size, number of colors, paper type, finishing, quantity, cost or deadline requires one or more proofs before printing. From time to time a customer who doesnt review their proof closely may end up with a spelling error. We do spell check every project although your CEO or guest speaker may not be impressed if their name is misspelled. LOOK at your proof carefully have a associate review the proof as well. When you OK the proof you are agreeing that all work done up to this point is correct and the project is ready to print.
PDF Proofing
Many of our clients are comfortable with a PDF proof emailed to their location. This is by far the fastest delivery of proofing we have. Although we do recommend that you print out a copy of the PDF and review the hard copy. One concern is to remember your monitor may not be calibrated accurately thus yielding an inaccurate rendition of your color project on the screen.
Proofing Spot Color Projects
Because we are direct computer to plate (CTP) our digital proofing manufactures Spot Color with CMYK dyes. This process does not authentically represent the spectrum of Pantone Colors. It is important to understand the Pantone Color you requested will print accurately on press. As a rule - we suggest you refer to a Pantone Book to get the accurate rendition of the desired colors as you review your proof.
Your Last Chance Before Printing
The proof is the last chance to review the project before it rolls off press. It is far less expensive to make changes at the proofing stage than to reprint the job!
